TJ Angels connects TJHSST alumni investors with exceptional founders from the TJ community. About TJHSST

Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology (TJHSST) is a Virginia public magnet school that has consistently ranked as one of the top high schools in the United States. Since its founding in 1985, TJ has produced graduates who have gone on to become leaders in technology, science, business, and entrepreneurship. Our alumni network spans the globe and includes founders, executives, investors, and innovators across virtually every industry.

Our Approach

TJ Angels operates as a syndicate, allowing members to invest on a deal-by-deal basis. This flexible model means you can choose which opportunities align with your interests, expertise, and investment thesis. We focus on early-stage companies with founders who have a meaningful connection to the TJHSST community—whether as alumni, parents, faculty, or through other relationships.

Beyond capital, we emphasize the mentor-investor relationship. Our members bring decades of experience across technology, finance, healthcare, government, and more. We believe that smart capital—combined with mentorship and network access—gives our portfolio companies a meaningful advantage.
